Every few years someone comes into the market offering what they call a “Green” Or “Environmentally Friendly” Parts Cleaning Machine. These people are never specialists and usually part of a business selling office equipment, cleaning products or something similar. The machinery is always imported, usually from China or the US and is only ever available in one model — supposedly a “one size fits all’ mentality.
At EnviroSolutions we have spent many years researching various solvents and chemicals suitable for Parts Cleaning. We offer alternatives to the traditional Hydrocarbon Solvents but our experience tells us that our traditional solvent is still by far the best solution for parts cleaning and there is no doubt that our machines are the most Environmentally Friendly.
Listed below a few of the points you should consider prior to placing a new parts cleaning machine in your workshop
- Does the machine require power 24 hours a day,7 days per week, 52 weeks a year to prevent the solvent from going off. Our machines only require power when in use.
- What happens to waste generated from cleaning parts. Waste from most competitor’s machines has to go landfill. Our used solvent is used as a heavy industry fuel. In some applications it is added to coal to increase the power generation output per tonne of coal used. Waste sludge is used by heavy industry and used as a fuel source.
- Washing parts in a water based cleaning agent will result in some parts going rusty. Parts washed in hydrocarbon solvents do not rust.
- Many of the new untried solvents require heating elements to maintain an environment for thecleaning agents to survive. Our environmentally friendly hydrocarbon solvents require no heating and will work in all conditions. In addition, our solvents are fully recyclable and reusable. Water based solvents are not.
- What safety devices exist: Do they have a lid to prevent splash; is there a light to illuminate the work area; what material are they built from.Our machines have lids to prevent splash; Lights to illuminate the work area available in standard or IP Rated; One piece steel construction; available in mobile version.
